You don't have to worry yourself with all the issues of customer service while running a business. Forget giving refunds to customers for returned products and having to deal with developing new products to sell to the market. It's just affiliate marketing sales and that's it. A: Do they actually pay you a fair cut of the affiliate marketing sales? Don't mess around with companies that won't pay you at least half of the cost of the sale. They don't even have to lift a finger to make that sale while you are doing all the work.

So expect them to pay you what you're worth. There are a lot of smart merchant's that understand this and they on the average pay more than 50%

B: You only want to deal with programs that are consistent in paying their affiliates when they say they will. Preferably once a month or better yet twice a month.

Please make sure you read the fine print of an affiliate programs requirements. You might make some sales, but never get paid for a long time because they require a minimum accumulation of revenue before they will disperse the funds. If you really think you won't be able to meet the requirements, then don't promote that program. There's plenty of opportunities out there that will fit your needs.

You're reputation is important and the company you represent can and will effect how people deal with you in the future. Don't deal with unprofessional merchants. Stick with quality merchants that will help build your good name on the Internet.

I suggest you become a customer of the company you want to represent. Buy one of their products and evaluate the whole selling process. See how the transaction went and if the product is really all that they make it up to be. Then go ahead and return it and see how they treat you. If you want to really market this product with confidence and some passion, then this is a must do.

2- Build your own subscriber list

This is the thing to do if you really want to boost your affiliate marketing sales.

It's really important to build a list of loyal and trusting subscribers. If you can accomplish this with your list, you will make good affiliate marketing sales consistently.

This is really too big of a subject to explain here, but just to say that building and monetizing a responsive list will be your golden egg when it comes to consistent profits for your business. Here's a simple break down of the process:

A: Develop or have someone write you an informative report, book or mini-course on a subject that would be of great interest to a potential subscriber.

B: Make a subscriber sign up page, so they can receive your information in exchange for their name and email address.

C: Build trust and loyalty by continuing to provide relevant useful information through your newsletter or ezine.

D: While you are helping them with your information, you can start sending them relevant offers of affiliate products that would further help them. Since they trust you and your recommendations, they will be more likely to respond to your offer, if of course, the products are relevant to the subject of your list and help to solve your subscribers' problems

3- Ask the merchant for a better percentage of the commission

Ask the merchant for a greater portion of the sale of the affiliate marketing sales. I'm sure they don't want to lose you as as an affiliate so they might agree and you might just be able to make more with each sale.
